Mistakes Prove Costly In Tiger Loss

The Tigers trailed 7-3 at halftime to the Ennis Lions, but mistakes in the second half allowed Ennis to take control and win 42-10.  In the first half the Tiger defense bent  on multiple occasions getting an interception in the endzone and making a stop on  fourth down on the 3 yard line but they refused to break.  When Matt Pratt kicked a field goal to open the scoring it was the first time all year that Ennis had trailed in a game.

The Lions responded though by quickly getting a touchdown run from Graham Harrell to go into halftime ahead 7-3.  The Lions came out in the second half and drove down the field and scored their second touchdown of the night when Andrew Novak made a catch that appeared out of bounds but was ruled a touchdown.  The Tiger offense couldn't get anything going and had to punt.  An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the return gave Ennis great field position and the Lions quickly scored again.  The Lions would score again after a Tiger fumble before Clarence Robinson would finally get the Tigers back on the scoreboard with a nifty touchdown run.

Ennis would add two more touchdowns - one after a tiger fumble deep in Ennis territory the Lions ran back to inside the Tiger 20 - that would round out the scoring.

The Tigers have to put this game behind them now and get ready for Red Oak next week.  By virtue of Lancaster's win over Red Oak on Friday night the Tigers did clinch a playoff spot and will play Waxahachie in the first round.
