'Big Boys' Start Friday with Lancaster

iThe Tigers have rolled through district 14-4A so far blowing out Athens, Mabank, and Red Oak putting up gaudy statistics and resting the starters for much of the games.  That all changes Friday night against the Lancaster Tigers.

Lancaster has a deceptive 4-4 record as their four losses are to South Oak Cliff, Sulphur Springs, Waxahachie and Ennis. Lancaster has also dominated two of their district games crushing Red Oak 56-10 and last week dominating Athens 49-10.  Against Ennis the Tigers pulled with 3 points in the third quarter at 20-17 before Ennis added two scores to pull away late.

Andrew Jackson is the head coach at Lancaster and has really turned the program around after they struggled just prior to his arrival and this year the efforts of his coaching are really bearing fruit.  RB Terry Sampson leads the team and is one of the top running backs in the area having already rushed for 1196 yards and 15 touchdowns on the season behind a powerful offensive line led by Anthony McNac.  QB Antroin Broom is another shifty runner that could cause the Tigers problems and he has thrown the ball for two touchdowns on the season so the secondary will have to keep their watch up for that.

As always Lancaster boasts one of the areas top defenses and this year is no exception.  The Tigers are only allowing 147 yards per game this season so the Tiger offense which has put up some gaudy numbers will have to work to get points on the best defense they have faced so far this season.

This game has a lot on the line for the Tigers.  It is likely to decide playoff seeding for the Division 2 bracket so it is important to get a win on Friday.

After the game we'll have the usual - recap, stats, videos, pictures.  Come out and support the Tigers!!!
