New Coach, New Era
A new era starts for Tiger football today as
Coach Dave Henigan opens practice for the 2004 season. Henigan brings
a lot of enthusiasm to a program that has gone through a tumultuous time
that started with the Tigers' loss to Texas High and ended with former Coach
Berry's resignation.
Coach Henigan will be installing a new
offense and defense this season and it will be interesting to watch the
progress as the season goes along. Having proven successful, his four
wide offense will be a slight change to Tiger fans who have watched the
Tigers slowly transform into more shotgun and passing sets over the past few
years. On both sides of the ball the Tigers should get better as the
season progresses and the coaching staff has the opportunity to implement
more and more of their schemes.
Right now there are a lot of questions about
this year's Tiger team and these practices will fill in many of the blanks.
Over the next few days we will be previewing the offense and defense and as
the season nears we will preview the Tigers' new district.
We are certainly excited about the upcoming
season and look forward to seeing the Tigers take the field!
