Tigers Start District Play in Lancaster

The appetizer portion of the Tiger schedule is over, and the nice 5-0 record is erased starting Friday night in Lancaster.  The Tigers open District 16-4A play against the Lancaster Tigers in Lancaster.

Lancaster comes into the game with a deceiving 1-4 record as they have played one of the hardest schedules in the state.  The Tigers opened with a win over state ranked Highland Park, but then dropped their next four games to Desoto, Greenville, Sherman and Waxahachie, but all but against 5A Desoto Lancaster had a chance to win as they kept the game close.  Last Friday the Tigers led the Indians in the fourth quarter but couldn't hold onto the victory.

Corsicana has improved every week so far and will need to keep that momentum in order to get the district slate started off right.  On defense the Tigers will face a dual threat QB in Antroin Broom who leads the Lancaster attack in rushing yards as well as having thrown for more than 400 yards.

The Tigers on offense have been stellar so far this season scoring more than 30 points in every game.  The Tiger offensive line has been key to the early success as they have given Daniel Orr time to throw the ball and Robinson holes to run through.  The Lancaster defense has been stingy though and will provide a stern test for the potent Tiger O.

This is a crucial game for the Tigers as a loss would put them behind the eight ball in the race for the playoffs, so come out Friday night and support the Tigers!
