Ennis & Waxahachie Will Meet In
Playoffs Tiger district mates split their games in the opening
round of the playoffs. Ennis needed a touchdown pass from Jake Brown
to Scotty Thornton with 19 seconds left in the game to get past Dallas
Kimball. Lancaster fell to South Oak Cliff 24-19 after leading 12-10
at the half.
The Waxahachie Indians beat Killeen 16-14 on a late field goal as even
though the Indians controlled the game turnovers and a missed extra point
almost cost them their season. Next week's matchup between the Indians
and Lions will be the first ever playoff game between the old rivals.
The Tigers will take on a Brownwood team that narrowly beat the
Midlothian Panthers 34-33 after the Panthers missed two extra points.
Also in Region 2 Division 2, Dallas Lincoln pasted Lake Dallas 48-7, Sulphur
Springs beat Terrell 38-34, Woodrow Wilson stunned #5 Hebron 44-15, Everman
beat Waco University 14-7, and Wylie defeated Paris N. Lamar 51-37. |
