Tigers Roll Past Mabank 42-0

The game was cancelled just after the fourth quarter started but the Tigers had already put up 42 unanswered points to go to 3-0 in district play.  Eric Gordon threw for a school record 5 touchdowns and ran for another in the victory which clinched a playoff spot for the Tigers.

The Tigers did get off to a 'slow' start as they only got 7 points in the first quarter but a heavy wind and deferring to the second half had more to do with that than any problems the Tigers were having.  In the second quarter Jon Bauer would catch an 11 yard TD pass to start the Tigers on a 28 point which would include touchdown passes to Rian Stubbs and Greg Stewart as well as a third Bauer touchdown which was a scintillating throw and catch right before the end of the half.

On defense the Tigers shut the Panthers down shutting out their second opponent on the season.  The Tiger D held Mabank to only 62 yards of total offense and added an interception by Decorian Smith.  A great performance by the defense which has gotten better each week.

Next week will be a huge game against Lancaster which should decide seeding for the playoffs.
