Tigers Falter In Waxahachie

A slow start and too many mistakes were too much for the Tigers to come back from on Friday as they fell to Waxahachie 23-22.  The Indians jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead but the Tigers fought back getting their first points when Rian Stubbs caught a 10 yard pass from Eric Gordon, but the Tigers went for two and failed to convert.  The Tigers would take the lead 13-10 going into halftime after Brannon Watson caught a 12 yard pass from Gordon.

In the second half the Tigers would extend the lead to 16-10 on a Kris Perez field goal, but Marquis Dansby would score the first of his two touchdowns on the night to reclaim the lead for the Indians.  Gordon would run in for a touchdown to briefly put the Tigers back on top but Dansby would deliver the game winning touchdown for the Indians minutes later.

The Tigers had four turnovers and 8 penalties for 70 yards which hurt their cause, but ultimately this game is merely a learning experience for the district season still to come.  The Tigers will look to get momentum back on their side next week at home against Waco University.
